Ants: The insect known as ants have segmented bodies with three distinct body parts; head, thorax, and abdomen, in a range of colors like black, brown, and reddish. They are insects that exhibit social behavior and live in colonies, leaving visible trails of pheromones. This makes it straightforward to track them to their nesting sites.

Cockroaches: Cockroaches have flat bodies with long antennae and a set of six legs that come in either brown or black. They are most active at night and often hide in dark, moist areas during the day. They have rapid reproduction and can act as disease carriers. You get efficient eradication when you understand their hiding spots.

Bed Bugs: Bed bugs are small with flat, oval bodies the size of an apple seed. They consume blood and commonly hide around beds and furniture.

Termites:Termites are mostly pale insects with soft bodies and can sometimes be winged. They feed on cellulose, which is commonly found in wood and paper products. They make mud tubes for shelter and can lead to structural damage over time.

Rodents: The creatures known as rats are larger and have thicker tails than mice. They tend to be most active at night and often leave gnaw marks and droppings around. They hide in dark areas and have the ability to pass through tight spaces.

Mosquito:Diminutive winged creatures with slender bodies and thin legs. They breed in stagnant water and are most active during dawn and dusk.

Spiders: They have two main body parts and typically eight legs. These creatures come in various sizes, shapes, and colors. It is vital to understand the harmful species and their preferred habitat.

By 1942, Wayne Poulsen, a former star skier from the University of Nevada, had acquired 2,000 acres (810 ha) in the valley from the Southern Pacific Railroad. Poulsen met Alex Cushing, a Harvard University-trained lawyer, in 1946 while Cushing was vacationing at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. During his vacation, Cushing toured the valley at Poulsen's invitation and decided to invest in building a ski resort there. Unlike Poulsen, Cushing had the political connections and access to the capital necessary to create a ski resort. In June 1948, the two founded the Squaw Valley Development Company and Cushing replaced Poulsen as president of the Squaw Valley Development Corporation by October 1949. Squaw Valley Ski Resort opened on Thanksgiving Day 1949. The resort was constructed with $400,000 raised by Cushing, including $150,000 of his own money. The creation of the Squaw Valley Development Corporation and Squaw Valley Ski Resort mark the modern era of the valley.
